FOOD!!!!

Our doctor told us that we could go ahead and get started on food. So Roy and I had an excursion to Wal-Mart to pick up some rice cereal. I'm not sure if picked the most opportune time to feed: He was starving. But at first he seemed intrigued by the spoonful of slop I shoved in his mouth.
However, it did not take long at all for Roy to realize that this in no way compares to milk. For the most I think it had to do with milk keeps coming, this goes slower and he has to be more patient.
Eventually we both kind of got the hang of it. He calmed down a little, and I shoved it in as fast as I could. It only took one night for me to learn that we need to eat the good old fashioned way before we start in on this new aged spoon stuff. But he is slowly getting the hang of it. I've been playing with the consistancy. Not too sure which way to go, thick and he doesn't open his mouth wide enough and it all ends up on his upper lip, runny and it all dribbles down his chin. Either way, he does not like getting his face scrubbed when we're done and parts are dried on. (though the dried on parts are usually his forehead or hair after he tries shoving it into his mouth with his hands and then rubs them all over his face)

A Great Big 4 Month Old

I can't believe my sweet baby is already 4 months old. He's a whopping 13 lbs 10 oz and 24 1/4". His shots hardly fazed him. He cried at the pokes, but calmed down relatively fast and only had a small drop of blood. (the first time he got shots he cried and cried and we had blood on his onesie and my pants) Mom says he's finally getting a schedule, at least in the morning. Roy wakes up with his papa's and is all smiles for us. He loves his papa so much that he turns away from breakfast to smile at him. He stays up for about an hour and is back asleep. No matter how long he sleeps in the morning, 10:00 is naptime. And of course no matter if he just had a bottle or not, when I get home for lunch he needs to nurse. Mom calls it his comfort nursing, it's just part of the routine. The afternoons are still a mystery; they change day to day. But no matter how rotten and crabby he is some days. I still love my little buddy. But who can resiste that happy naked baby. I love that his bear is finally leaning against him, I seem to recall Roy using the bear as his prop for his 1 month pictures.
He's cute with clothes, but I couldn't resist the happy naked boy.

Rolling Over ... Take 1

Roy learned a new trick for my birthday. He can now roll over from his back to his belly.

Unfortunately I didnt' realize you can't rotate video to be the right direction. The next one will be up right.

Just a little Talking

This is just a little dose. Normally he talks a lot more, but like Maeli, he doesn't want to perform for the camera.

Game Camera

Scott may be mad that I'm posting this without him, but he hogs the computer when he's home and I don't get to blog much. The game camera is something Scott has always wanted and after much going back and forth about wanting it versus needing it, he won and got his game camera. I admit I've been skeptical about it. A $100 thing strapped to a tree in the middle of the woods that will take pictures using a motion sensor is not my idea of a need, nor a wise investment. I keep thinking that it's going to get stolen and it's not going to work out the way Scott wants it to. But after a week on a tree in the woods, up above where we were married his camera caught something, black bears.

What a BIG Boy!!!

Roy is almost 4 months old, and just starting to outgrow his 0-3 month pajamas. He has room in the body to put on weight, but his legs and arms are just too long. I don't have issues with my baby getting bigger but I keep stuffing him into these pajamas as soon as they're clean because they are mine and Scott's favorite. Our little monkey is too darn cute and looks so sweet in his pj's. We went to Wal-Mart to see if they had anymore pairs like them for future growing, but ours is out. If any favorite aunties happen to come across a pair and want to jump up in status with Roy send 'em our way. And if not, I'll just have to have another baby! For curiousities sake I tried a 3-6 month onesie on him the other day. It is most definitely hanging down between his knees.
